Allison Betof Warner, MD, PhD, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY, discusses utilizing exercise for the treatment of cancer and combining this with immunotherapies. Previous investigations have demonstrated the similarities of exercise and anti-angiogenics in regards their effect on blood vessels with a tumor. In the melanoma treatment setting, anti-angiogenics have not yet proven efficacious when used alone. However, it has been hypothesized that exercise can improve the delivery of cells. Thus, various intensities of exercise are being explored to investigate the effect on the delivery of T-cells and subsequent tumor growth. This interview took place at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) 2022 Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL.
