ESMO WCGIC 2023 | Immunotherapy and cancer vaccines in anal squamous cell carcinoma

Juan Manuel O’Connor, MD, MSc, Instituto Alexander Fleming, Buenos Aires, Argentina, provides an overview of future treatment approaches for anal squamous cell carcinoma, which has very few treatment options. Multiple trials are assessing various immunotherapies in this setting, and cancer vaccines targeting E6 and E7 oncoproteins are under development. This interview took place at the ESMO World Congress on Gastrointestinal Cancer (WCGIC) 2023 in Barcelona, Spain.
