ASCO 2025 | RCC trials at ASCO 2025: CheckMate 214, ARC-20, LITESPARK-004 and TRAVERSE

Tian Zhang, MD, UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, TX, gives an overview of several trials in renal cell carcinoma (RCC) presented at the 2025 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting. 9 year follow-up data from the Phase III CheckMate 214 trial (NCT02231749) highlights the benefits of first-line nivolumab plus ipilimumab over sunitinib in advanced RCC. The Phase I ARC-20 (NCT05536141) and Phase II LITESPARK-004 (NCT03401788) trials, which assessed casdatifan with cabozantinib and belzutifan respectively, both additionally showed promising results. Encouraging findings were also reported in the Phase I TRAVERSE study (NCT04696731) of ALLO-316, a CAR T-cell therapy. This interview took place during the 2025 ASCO Meeting in Chicago, IL.
