GU Cancers 2025 | NIAGARA: impact of pCR on outcomes of durvalumab with NAC in MIBC
Elizabeth Plimack, MD, MS, Fox Chase Cancer Centre, Philadelphia, PA, comments on additional outcomes from the NIAGARA trial (NCT03732677) of perioperative durvalumab with neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) in patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC). Durvalumab reduced the risk of metastasis and death compared to NAC alone and improved event-free survival (EFS) and overall survival (OS) in both pathologic complete response (pCR) and non-pCR groups. Immune-mediated adverse events were mostly low grade. This interview took place at the ASCO GU Cancers Symposium 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
