Fiorita Poulakaki, MD, PhD, FEBS, CEBS, Europa Donna (The European Breast Cancer Coalition) & Athens Medical Center Hospital, Athens, Greece, discusses the impact of lymphedema and arm morbidity on quality of life following axillary surgery for breast cancer. These issues can cause pain, functional alterations, clothing habit changes, and social and work-related problems. Efforts to de-escalate axillary management aim to address these challenges. This interview took place at the 2024 European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Breast Cancer Annual Congress in Berlin, Germany.
