Julian Kӧtt, MD, University Medical Center Hamburg, Hamburg, Germany, discusses the prognostic value of tissue-based profiling to detect sentinel lymph node (SLN) positivity in patients with high-risk melanoma. Gene expression profiling (GEP) has shown that it can precede sentinel lymph node (SLN) biopsies and improve the prognosis for melanoma-specific survival rates. SLN tissue-based profiling could lead to the initiation of early adjuvant therapies in patients with high-risk melanoma. This interview took place at The European Congress on Dermato-Oncology 2024 in Vienna, Austria.
