GU Cancers 2025 | Evaluating HER2 as a biomarker in urothelial carcinoma

Xinan Sheng, MD, Peking University Cancer Hospital & Institute, Beijing, China, comments on the role of HER2 as a biomarker in urothelial carcinoma, highlighting that anti-HER2 treatments, such as trastuzumab emtansine and trastuzumab deruxtecan, have shown significant efficacy in patients with HER2-positive tumors. Promising results from various trials such as the RC48-C014 (NCT04264936) and RC48-C017 (NCT05297552) trials, including high pCR rates and one-year event-free survival rates. This interview took place at the ASCO GU Cancers Symposium 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
