GU Cancers 2025 | Recent improvements in HER2-targeting ADCs for genitourinary cancers

Xinan Sheng, MD, Peking University Cancer Hospital & Institute, Beijing, China, comments on recent and ongoing trials exploring the potential of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). Trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd), an FDA-approved anti- human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) ADC, has shown promise, while MRG002 combined with programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) inhibitor demonstrated enhanced anti-tumor activity in a recent study. As research continues, Dr Sheng emphasizes the importance of understanding the differences and similarities between these ADCs, in order to optimize treatment strategies. This interview took place at the ASCO GU Cancers Symposium 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
