GU Cancers 2025 | Advances in neoadjuvant strategies for muscle-invasive bladder cancer
Xinan Sheng, MD, Peking University Cancer Hospital & Institute, Beijing, China, discusses how neoadjuvant therapy is reshaping the treatment landscape of muscle-invasive bladder cancer, following the success of immunotherapy in other malignancies. The NIAGARA study (NCT03732677) demonstrated the benefits of adding durvalumab to neoadjuvant chemotherapy, and ongoing trials are now exploring the integration of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), such as disitamab vedotin and enfortumab vedotin, into treatment strategies. Additionally, Dr Sheng shares promising results from the RC48-C017 trial (NCT05297552) of disitamab vedotin and toripalimab for muscle-invasive bladder cancer. This interview took place at the ASCO GU Cancers Symposium 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
