Mark Zafereo, MD, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, advocates for a treatment paradigm shift to dabrafenib, trametinib, pembrolizumab (DTP) for BRAF-mutated anaplastic thyroid cancer (BRAFm-ATC) based on trial results. Despite controversy over DT versus DTP, DTP’s ability to convert unresectable cases to operable ones with reduced surgical morbidity and the rarity of disease reducing randomized trial ability, the data strongly supports it as a new standard of care for BRAFm-ATC. This interview took place during the 2025 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
