VJVirtual | “Bridging the Gap”: How the National Lung Cancer Audit aims to tackle health inequalities

Neal Navani • 3 Nov 2022

Neal Navani, MA, MRCP, MSc, PhD, University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK, discusses a recent report by the UK Lung Cancer Coalition (UKLCC) entitled “”Bridging the Gap””, which highlights inequalities among patients with lung cancer in the UK. A key message of the report is that there is a lack of complete data about patients with lung cancer in areas such as mental health, homelessness, LGBTQ+, and religion. The National Lung Cancer Audit (NLCA) is aiming to increase its remit to include data in these areas, with the hope of improving outcomes for patients.
