Jerome Fayette, MD, Centre Lèon Bèrard, Lyon, France, discusses the bispecific antibody petosemtamab designed to target both EGFR and LGR5. In head and neck cancer, both EGFR and LGR5 are often overexpressed, making them important therapeutic targets. Clinical data supports the efficacy of petosemtamab, demonstrating enhanced antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) activity. Combining anti-EGFR with anti-PD-1 therapies in the clinic has a strong rationale for improving treatment outcomes in first-line settings. Petosemtamab has shown promising results in clinical trials, with high response rates and reasonable median overall survival (OS) rates. This interview took place during the 2024 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
