ASCO 2026 | Could cemiplimab replace HHI therapy in BCCHN?

Hannah Kenny, MD, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA, discusses how cemiplimab may fit into the treatment algorithm in basal cell carcinoma of the head and neck (BCCHN) in the future. Cemiplimab is currently approved for use after failure of hedgehog inhibitor (HHI) therapy, however results from a phase II study (NCT05929664) of neoadjuvant cemiplimab prior to HHI therapy indicate that it could be used as an alternative to HHIs. This interview took place during the 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
