WCLC 2021 | The importance of determining ‘value’ in radiation oncology

Fumiko Chino, MD, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY, discusses value and innovation within radiation oncology. Radiation therapy is an integral component of lung cancer care, but as costs increase with advancing technology, assessing its value is important. Dr Chino discusses why conflicting opinions on what constitutes ‘value’ make this a complex topic, and how different frameworks factor in different elements when defining value. This interview took place during the IASLC World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) virtual meeting 2021.
