WCLC 2023 | Clinical case review for the definition of resectable NSCLC

Mariana Brandao, MD, PhD, Institute Jules Bordet, Brussels, Belgium, discusses a clinical case review conducted to inform a multidisciplinary consensus on the definition of resectable non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The review consisted over 100 patients with stage III NSCLC and reviewers evaluated multiple cases and answered a questionnaire on whether the tumours were resectable, the reasons for their decision, and what surgical procedures could be recommended. A small proportion of cases had no consensus reached and upon further re-evaluations, the number of undecided cases decreased. Dr Brandao shared that the case review was important in informing the final discussion for the multidisciplinary consensus. This interview took place at the 2023 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in Singapore, Singapore.
