GU Cancers 2025 | INTerpath-005: mRNA vaccines with pembrolizumab in bladder cancer

Guru Sonpavde, MD, AdventHealth Cancer Institute, Orlando, FL, discusses the potential role of mRNA vaccines in bladder cancer, building on their success in melanoma. The V940 (mRNA-4157) vaccine, when combined with pembrolizumab, has demonstrated significant improvements in progression-free survival in melanoma in the INTerpath-005 trial (NCT06305767), leading to ongoing Phase III trials. This promising platform is now being explored in bladder cancer and other malignancies, potentially transforming the treatment landscape. This interview took place at the ASCO GU Cancers Symposium 2025 in San Francisco, CA.
