Sofia Rivera, MD, PhD, Institut Gustave Roussy, Villejuif, France, explains the difference between hypofractionated (HF) radiotherapy (RT), which uses higher doses per fraction to reduce treatment duration, and normofractionated (NF) radiotherapy, which delivers smaller doses over more sessions. The Phase III HypoG-01 trial (NCT03127995) compares three weeks of HF radiotherapy to five weeks of NF radiotherapy, investigating whether shorter treatment regimens can provide equivalent outcomes with increased convenience for patients. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2024 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
