ASCO 2024 | postMONARCH: abemaciclib with fulvestrant in pretreated HR+/HER2- breast cancer

Kevin Kalinsky, MD, MS, Winship Cancer Institute, Atlanta, GA, discusses results from the Phase III postMONARCH trial (NCT05169567) of abemaciclib plus fulvestrant in patients with HR+/HER2- advanced breast cancer (ABC) who progressed on prior CDK4/6 inhibitor (CDK4/6i) and endocrine therapy (ET). Abemaciclib and fulvestrant significantly improved progression-free survival (PFS) compared to placebo plus fulvestrant. Dr Kalinsky additionally highlights positive data from a subgroup analyses from the trial. This interview took place during the 2024 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
