BNOS 2022 | Detecting molecular features of infiltrative tumor cells linked to glioblastoma recurrence

Ruman Rahman, PhD, University of Nottingham, Nottingham, UK, discusses using spatially resolved transcriptomics to find the molecular features of infiltrative tumor cells associated with recurring glioblastoma. Fluorescence-guided neurosurgery with 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA) enables the detection of infiltrative tumor cells, where the tumors cells that have not been resected will fluoresce as a result of differential expression of certain genes. This interview took place at the British Neuro-Oncology Society (BNOS) Annual Meeting 2022.
