Kevin Harrington, MD, PhD, FRCP, FRCR, FRSB, The Institute of Cancer Research and The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK, comments on results from the Phase II Alliance A091802 trial (NCT03944941), which compared avelumab plus cetuximab versus avelumab alone in patients with advanced cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (CSCC). The combination therapy demonstrated improved progression-free survival compared to monotherapy, with manageable safety findings. Secondary outcomes including overall survival and response rates also favored the combination arm. This interview took place during the 2025 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
