ESMO Breast 2024 | Optimizing patient selection for antibody drug conjugates in breast cancer

Eva Ciruelos, MD, PhD, Hospital 12 de Octubre, Madrid, Spain, discusses the challenges in selecting the best treatments for HER2+ and HER2- breast cancer. She emphasizes the need to refine patient selection for each drug and determine optimal sequencing, especially as the efficacy of antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) in later lines of therapy is not always optimal. More data on biomarkers are needed to develop the best treatment options for each patient. This interview took place at the 2024 European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Breast Cancer Annual Congress in Berlin, Germany.
