BNOS 2022 | Targeting mechanisms of resistance to radiotherapy in glioblastoma

Ross Carruthers, PhD, University of Glasgow, Glasgow, UK, gives an overview on how glioblastomas can become resistant to radiotherapy. Despite the exact pathways being poorly understood, it is generally understood that cancer stem cells and tumor heterogeneity are involved in resistance. Cancer stem cells tend to active DNA repair pathways more frequently and so targeting these stem cells will be beneficial to resensitize patients to radiotherapy. This interview took place at the British Neuro-Oncology Society (BNOS) Annual Meeting 2022.
