An interesting topic at the British Thoracic Oncology Group (BTOG) Annual Conference 2018, held in Dublin, Ireland, was newer oncogene addictions in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), which was presented by Prof. O’Byrne. Speaking from the meeting, Ken O’Byrne, MD, of Princess Alexandra Hospital & Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia, gives us an overview of his talk. He highlights key oncogenes, including EGFR, ALK, HER2 and BRAF, as well as the new insights that novel technologies are now allowing us to detect.
