ESMO 2024 | Final overall survival results from KEYNOTE-811 in HER2+ metastatic gastric cancer
Filippo Pietrantonio, MD, Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori, Milan, Italy, discusses the final overall survival (OS) analysis of the KEYNOTE-811 trial (NCT03615326), exploring pembrolizumab with trastuzumab and chemotherapy in patients with HER2+ metastatic gastric or gastroesophageal junction cancer. Pembrolizumab significantly improved OS versus placebo in all patients, with even greater benefit in those with PD-L1 CPS ≥1. These findings support the use of pembrolizumab with trastuzumab and chemotherapy in this group of patients. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2024 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
