Alessio Cortellini, MD, Bio-Medico University, Rome, Italy, discusses two analyses of the Pembro-Real 5Y registry evaluating long-term survival in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treated with first-line pembrolizumab. One study focused on patients with poor performance status, showing that while overall prognosis remains poor, a subset achieves durable benefit, underscoring the limitations of standard predictors. The second study examined age-related outcomes, revealing that systemic health markers and functional status were more influential than chronological age in determining long-term survival. This interview took place at 2025 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in Barcelona, Spain.
