Yinghong Wang, MD, PhD, MS, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, comments on the impact of immunotherapy-related adverse events on treatment outcomes in patients with gastrointestinal cancers. The severity of certain side effects may result in the interruption of treatment, which negatively impacts survival in patients. There is consequently a need for safe, efficacious treatments. This interview took place at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) 2023 Gastrointestinal Cancers (GI) Symposium in San Francisco, CA.
