WCLC 2026 | COPERNICUS: safety of subcutaneous amivantamab plus lazertinib in EGFRm NSCLC
Balazs Halmos, MD, Montefiore Medical Center, New York, NY, shares insights into results from the COPERNICUS (NCT06667076) trial, examining subcutaneous amivantamab plus lazertinib in metastatic EGFR-mutated (EGFRm) non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The COPERNICUS trial was a follow-up to the MARIPOSA (NCT04487080) trial, which evaluated the intravenous formulation of amivantamab, but had a significant rate of adverse events (AEs), particularly dermatologic and thromboembolic events. A substantial reduction in the AE profile was observed with the subcutaneous formulation, with rates of discontinuation due to this dropping from 9% in the MARIPOSA trial to less than 1% in the COPERNICUS trial. This interview took place at the IASLC 2026 World Conference on Lung Cancer congress in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
