ELCC 2025 | Evolving approaches for mediastinal nodal involvement in NSCLC

Paul van Schil, MD, PhD, University Hospital Antwerp, Antwerp, Belgium, comments on the evolving field of mediastinal nodal involvement in patients with lung cancer, highlighting the need for further research to determine the optimal management strategy for patients with persisting nodal involvement and one or two diseases. Whilst some surgeons agree that restaging the mediastinum is necessary to exclude patients with true disease, current evidence is not yet conclusive. This interview took place at the European Lung Cancer Congress (ELCC) 2025 in Paris, France.
