Marleen Kok, MD, PhD, Netherlands Cancer Institute, Amsterdam, Netherlands, shares her highlights from the ESMO Breast 2021 meeting, in particular highlighting presentations on the history of BRCA gene sequencing, an update from the GELATO study (NCT03147040) of carboplatin and atezolizumab for lobular breast cancer, and novel data on biomarkers. This interview took place at the virtual European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Breast Cancer Congress 2021.
