ASCO GI 2023 | Mitigating immune-related AEs in patients with autoimmune conditions

Yinghong Wang, MD, PhD, MS, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, discusses strategies to reduce the occurrence of immune-related adverse events (AEs) in patients with autoimmune diseases. In general, early diagnosis and subsequent treatment is vital to minimize the severity of any side effects. For gastrointestinal AEs, endoscopy can assess the severity of the condition, and for patients with colitis, immunotherapy can be continued to be administered, even after diagnosis. This interview took place at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) 2023 Gastrointestinal Cancers (GI) Symposium in San Francisco, CA.
