EBCC 2024 | Managing patients with breast cancer germline susceptibility

Isabel Rubio, MD, PhD, Clinica Universidad de Navarra, Madrid, Spain, highlights the role of surgeons in the management of patients with breast cancer germline susceptibility. The outcomes of genetic testing and the increasing success of systemic treatment must be taken into account when considering surgical treatment. Surgeons should be given the tools of genetic testing results and be able to deescalate surgical treatment when possible. This interview took place at the 14th European Breast Cancer Conference (EBCC) in Milan, Italy.
