Markus Peck-Radosavljevic, MD, Medical University of Vienna, Vienna, Austria, notes that during the Phase IV STELLAR study (NCT04763408), tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) were the standard treatment for advanced or unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (uHCC). However, first-line options have since shifted to immune-oncology (IO) agents or IO anti-angiogenic combinations. TKIs are now primarily used for patients with contraindications to first-line treatments or in second-line and later therapies. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2024 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
