ESMO GI 2024 | Evaluating patient suitability for zolbetuximab in gastroesophageal cancer

Samuel Klempner, MD, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA, discusses several clinical factors, such as comorbidities and performance status, that should be considered before offering the anti-claudin 18.2 monoclonal antibody zolbetuximab to patients. Despite these, with careful management, these factors should not prevent the prescription of zolbetuximab, particularly given the strong evidence from Phase III trials consistently showing improved overall and progression-free survival in patients. This interview took place at 2024 European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Gastrointestinal Cancers Annual Congress in Munich, Germany.
