Benjamin Besse, MD, PhD, Gustave Roussy, Villejuif, France, discusses the ongoing investigation of patritumab deruxtecan, an anti-HER3 antibody-drug conjugate (ADC), in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The ADC is compared against platinum-based chemotherapy, the approved standard regimen in the Phase III HERTHENA-Lung02 trial (NCT05338970). While HER3 expression cannot be assessed via liquid biopsy, the study aims to explore alternative treatment options for patients with NSCLC, highlighting the potential of patritumab deruxtecan in reshaping future therapeutic strategies. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2024 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
