ESMO 2024 | Does LAG-3 and PD-1 inhibition have a role in treating brain metastases in melanoma?

Meredith McKean, MD, Sarah Cannon Research Institute, Nashville, TN, discusses the potential role of fianlimab and cemiplimab, a LAG-3 and PD-1 inhibitor respectively, in the management of brain metastases in patients with melanoma. Existing strategies such as ipilimumab and nivolumab can penetrate the blood brain barrier, and the former combination may show signs of similar intracranial efficacy. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2024 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
