Elena Prisciandaro, MD, University Hospitals Leuven, Leuven, Belgium, discusses the rise in the rate of lung cancer inoperability due to the delay in diagnosis and staging during the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic saw a decrease in access to consultations with thoracic surgeons, radiological exams including positron emission tomography, amongst other methods of disease staging and diagnosis, resulting in a decrease in the earlier diagnosis of disease and a subsequent rise in inoperable lung cancer. This interview took place during the virtual European Lung Cancer Congress 2022.
