WCLC 2024 | Addressing the need to measure the impact of war on lung cancer risk

Felipe Roitberg, MD, Brazilian Hospital Services Company (EBSERH), Brasília, Brazil, comments on how exposure to carcinogens and other related agents as a result of armed conflict in people is not being assessed. Various hazards such as uranium from bullets or asbestos from damaged buildings may increase the risk of cancer, and there are no screening policies nor policies that specifically measure their potential impact on the health of people in warzones. This interview took place at the 2024 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in San Diego, CA.
