WCLC 2024 | Current challenges in biomarker testing in Latin America

Luis Raez, MD, Memorial Cancer Institute, Pembroke Pines, FL, discusses the need for more liquid biopsies in Latin America. Due to various issues such as cost, tissue biopsies are more prevalent in this region of the world, despite certain mutations such as EGFR being more common in this population. Detection of these mutations will need the adoption of techniques such as next generation sequencing (NGS). This interview took place at the 2024 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in San Diego, CA.
