ESMO 2024 | Phase III trial of first-line SHR-1701 with chemotherapy in HER2- G/GEJA

Radka Obermannova, MD, PhD, Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic, discusses a Phase III trial (NCT04950322) of SHR-1701, a bifunctional PD-L1 and TGF-βIIR targeting agent, with chemotherapy as first-line treatment for HER2-negative gastric/gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma (G/GEJA). In patients with PD-L1 CPS ≥5 tumors, SHR-1701 plus chemotherapy significantly improved overall survival (OS) versus placebo. Progression-free survival, objective response rates, and duration of response were similarly improved, with manageable safety profiles in both groups. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2024 Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
