Tim Rattay, MBChB, PhD, FRCS, University of Leicester, Leicester, UK, gives an overview of the PRE-ACT-01 trial, which evaluates an artificial intelligence (AI)-based risk prediction model for arm lymphoedema in patients with breast cancer undergoing regional lymph node irradiation. The trial compares AI-informed treatment decisions to standard care, assessing lymphoedema rates, radiotherapy (RT) modifications, and oncologic outcomes. If successful, the model could enhance shared decision-making, reduce lymphoedema incidence, and refine personalized radiotherapy approaches, potentially influencing clinical practice. This interview took place at the 2025 St. Gallen International Breast Cancer Consensus Meeting in Vienna, Austria.
