BCC 2025 | Managing radiotherapy induced arm swelling in breast cancer

Tim Rattay, MBChB, PhD, FRCS, University of Leicester, Leicester, UK, comments on the importance of supportive measures for patients at higher risk of arm swelling. The development of a patient-facing app will provide personalized risk assessment and offer supportive measures such as weight loss, exercises, and the use of an arm sleeve or stockinette to reduce the risk of long-term arm lymphedema. This interview took place at the 2025 St. Gallen International Breast Cancer Consensus Meeting in Vienna, Austria.
