Anisha Patel, MD, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, describes the potential benefits of a topical BRAF inhibitor for acneiform eruptions associated with EGFR inhibitors. Reactivating the MAP kinase pathway in the skin, while inhibiting EGFR in cancer cells, can lead to improved management of acneiform eruptions. An exploratory analysis showed that effective treatment of acneiform eruptions can increase compliance with EGFR inhibitors, which may also positively impact tumor response. This interview took place at American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting 2025 in Chicago, IL.
