Anisha Patel, MD, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, discusses a Phase II trial assessing LUT014 gel, a topical BRAF inhibitor, for managing acneiform rash in patients receiving colorectal cancer receiving cetuximab or panitumumab. The study tested two concentrations of LUT014 against placebo, where significant clinical benefit and favorable tolerability were shown for both active treatment arms, highlighting the potential of targeted topical therapy to manage dermatologic toxicity and support uninterrupted anti-EGFR cancer treatment.
