ASCO 2026 | Anti-tumor activity of liposomal topotecan in patients with advanced Merkel cell carcinoma

Vincent Ma, MD, University of Wisconsin, Madison, WI, discusses the anti-tumor activity of FF-10850, a liposomal formulation of topotecan, in patients with advanced Merkel cell carcinoma, highlighting its potential as a novel agent in a disease with limited treatment options following progression on PD-1-based therapy. Dr Ma notes that a Phase I trial (NCT04047251) demonstrated promising responses, with two out of nice patients achieving an objective response and six out of nine achieving stable disease control, as well as improved progression-free survival (PFS) and a slight improvement in overall survival (OS). This interview took place during the 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
