Prof. Arnold discusses whether TNM staging is still a useful tool, arguing that circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) provides a stronger indication of prognosis. Treatment decisions should be made to consider the prognosis, with more intensive treatment for those with poorer prognosis, but also patient condition. This interview took place at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Gastrointestinal Cancer 2026 Congress in Munich, Germany.
