Camillo Porta

Camillo Porta, MD is a Professor of Medical Oncology at the A. Moro University of Bari, Bari, Italy, and the Head of the Division of Medical Oncology at the AOU Consorziale Policlinico di Bari, Bari, Italy. Prof. Porta completed his medical degree and specialized training in Medical Oncology at the University of Pavia, Pavia, Italy. He achieved his Oncology Research Fellowship at the IRCCS San Matteo University Hospital, Pavia, Italy, and progressed to the position of Associate Professor of Medical Oncology at the University of Pavia in 2018. He was also the Head of the Division of Translational Oncology at the IRCCS Istituti Clinici Scientifici Maugeri, Pavia, Italy.
He is a member of societies such as the Italian Association of Medical Oncology (AIOM), European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), New York Academy of Sciences (NYAS), International Society for Interferons and Cytokines Research (ISICR), Italian Society of Urological Oncology (SIUro), and Italian Society of Internal Medicine (SIMI). He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Oncology Reviews, and currently serves as the President of the Italian Nephro-Oncology Group (GION).
Speaking on clinical trials for the treatment of genitourinary cancers
Prof. Porta’s clinical and research interests lie in the development of novel treatments for kidney cancer, conducting clinical trials in genitourinary cancers, particularly renal cell carcinoma, and gastrointestinal cancers, such as hepatocellular carcinoma. His multidisciplinary research focuses on immuno-oncology and cellular therapies, as well as the development of novel anticancer drugs. He has almost four hundred peer-reviewed publications in internationally renowned journals like the New England Journal of Medicine.
