Nicolas Girard, MD, PhD, Institut Curie, Paris, France, outlines the investigation into treatment strategies for patients with thymic carcinomas in the real-world clinical practice setting using the prospective Réseau tumeurs THYMiques et Cancer (RYTHMIC) database. Treatment based on tumor staging and in light of exiting guidelines is discussed, including treatment sequencing. Prof. Girad recommends genome profiling for the identification of oncogenic alterations that can be treated with targeted therapies.
