WCLC 2024 | APOLO: induction chemo-IO with concurrent chemo-RT in stage III NSCLC

Gerry Hanna, MBBCh, PhD, MRCP, FRCR, FRANZCR, Trinity College Dublin, Dublin, Ireland, comments on the Phase II APOLO trial (NCT04776447), which investigated induction chemo-immunotherapy with atezolizumab followed by standard concurrent chemo-radiotherapy and maintenance atezolizumab in unresectable stage IIIA-IIIC non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Promising outcomes were reported in patients receiving induction therapy, suggesting potential improvements over the regimen evaluated in the PACIFIC trial (NCT02125461). This interview took place at the 2024 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) in San Diego, CA.
