ELCC 2025 | Patient-related barriers to MTB adherence in stage III NSCLC

Markus Joerger, MD, PhD, Kantonsspital St. Gallen, St. Gallen, Switzerland, explores the primary barriers to adherence to multidisciplinary tumour board (MTB) recommendations in patients with stage III non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Patient-related factors, particularly patient frailty and advanced tumour stage, are the predominant contributors to non-adherence, rather than site-specific issues. Prof. Joerger also acknowledges the current study’s limitations in evaluating site-level differences, emphasizing the need for broader data collection in future studies to more comprehensively address these barriers. This interview took place at the European Lung Cancer Congress (ELCC) 2025 in Paris, France.
