Jana de Boniface, MD, PhD, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden, discusses strengths of the SENOMAC trial (NCT02240472) examining the omission of completion axillary dissection in patients with breast cancer and sentinel lymph node macrometastases. Dr de Boniface highlights the strong radiotherapy controls and emphasizes that the results of the SENOMAC trial have to be considered in the context of the nodal radiotherapy that most patients received. This interview took place during the 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
